The pursuit of progress

As time goes on, I've realized that many individuals are so preoccupied with perfectionism that they fail to notice the tiny steps that add up to a big picture. When they don't achieve the perfection they desire, depression may quickly set in. You should celebrate your minor victories and accomplishments rather than getting caught up in the idea of attaining perfection and establishing an unreachable, unrealistic goal for yourself. This will also enable you to better understand your impact. Keep in mind that the goal is to continuously improve and advance rather than to strive for unattainable perfection.

Many people's greatest vice is their unwavering pursuit of perfection at the expense of the steps that could improve them. You'll be shocked to learn that some people are waiting for the ideal opportunity to start something they've always wanted to do.

For instance, when you have a desire, you don't have to wait for the ideal opportunity to begin; you can start now and go fairly without waiting for the ideal moment. You will soon pass the person who is still looking for the ideal moment to start and ultimately decides not to start at all if you just start from where you are and continue forward motion. The most crucial thing is to continue moving forward and make progress, regardless of how you begin the journey. Even though your initial support system may have been inadequate, starting is always preferable to not starting at all.

Nothing inspires and generates momentum like achieving goals and witnessing the fruits of your labor. For this reason, rather than attempting to take a step that is obviously impossible and failing miserably, it is preferable to take the small ones that you can succeed at, celebrate your victory, and then take additional steps in that order.

Interestingly, as you pay more attention to the advancements being made, you find yourself feeling more appreciative of things. This is due to the fact that you will start to recognize your blessings. However, if you are simply concerned with getting to the destination or with perfection, you will not feel grateful because you will believe that you have not accomplished anything and are just trying to get there first.

As you reflect on all of your accomplishments to date, you will see that these are among the many reasons to be grateful and express thanks. Furthermore, you get generally happier with life the more you recognize the development. Even if you might not have gotten everything you desired, you should nevertheless be proud of the significant progress you have achieved.

I now realize that once you see the advancements being made, it will have a favorable mental impact on you, causing you to shift your attention from the terrible aspects of life to the positive aspects, such as your accomplishments and strengths. Your attention will be drawn on the steps you have taken and your progress made, rather than to the things you still need to do. Never forget that development must be made in order to achieve perfection; it is not a given.
