Aceh Jaya Regency saves extraordinary natural wealth. One of them is the Peak of Geurutee which is never empty of local and foreign tourists. This peak is located on the border between Aceh Jaya Regency and Aceh Besar, about 1 Hour 30 Minutes from Banda Aceh City, the capital of Aceh Province.
Geurutee Peak is a peak from the same mountain name. Mount Geurutee is the trajectory of the national road to the southwestern region of Aceh. Geurutee is also part of the Ulu Masen forest which is now crowned as one of the forests supplying oxygen to the world. This mountain has a very deep ravine and is directly adjacent to the shoreline of the Indian Ocean.
The distinctive feature of Geurutee is a monument that has a pointed shape as a sign that visitors are at the highest climbing position of the mountains. This place is also a favorite area for riders who want to rest while enjoying the beauty of the island and the sea from the top.
Kabupaten Aceh Jaya menyimpan kekayaan alam yang luar biasa. Salah satunya adalah Puncak Geurutee yang tak pernah sepi dikunjungi wisatawan lokal maupun mancanegara. Puncak ini terletak di perbatasan antara Kabupaten Aceh Jaya dan Aceh Besar, sekitar 1 Jam 30 Menit dari Kota Banda Aceh, ibu kota Provinsi Aceh.
Puncak Geurutee merupakan puncak dari nama gunung yang sama. Gunung Geurutee merupakan lintasan jalan nasional menuju wilayah barat daya Aceh. Geurutee juga merupakan bagian dari hutan Ulu Masen yang kini dinobatkan sebagai salah satu hutan penyuplai oksigen dunia. Gunung ini mempunyai jurang yang sangat dalam dan berbatasan langsung dengan bibir pantai Samudera Hindia.
Ciri khas Geurutee adalah monumennya yang berbentuk runcing sebagai tanda pengunjung berada pada posisi pendakian tertinggi gunung tersebut. Tempat ini juga menjadi kawasan favorit para pengendara yang ingin beristirahat sambil menikmati keindahan pulau dan laut dari atas.
