We are definitely out of contention for a World Cup ticket after losing again last night, this time against Costa Rica. They scored the winner about five minutes into over time, by that time I was hoping they would win because a draw did nothing for us but it would very nearly kill Costa Rica's ambitions also. At least they still have a chance of getting to a play off.
As I thought from the start Canada, USA and Mexico are the most likely to qualify directly and I think Panama or Jamaica are the best bets for making it to the play offs. Having a lot of players in Europe helps out a lot, and that is the advantage USA, Canada, Mexico and Jamaica have.
As for Honduras well this was foreseeable, we don't have much, but there is one thing that gets me, they fired the last coach because of bad results but only when it was nearly certain we were out, so instead of hiring a local coach to just see us through this qualifier they hired Bolillo Gomez a rather expensive coach, who would not have time to do anything. We are an extremely poor country why waste our few resources in this manner?
