When two kids a given birth to, obviously we refer to them as twins. When they are three, we say they are triplets and when they are four it’s quadruplex.
(These are my younger brothers 👇 who are twins yet so unidentical 🤣😂😁)
However, technically, three or more babies are known as 'Higher Order Multiples'. This sort of multiple pregnancy occurs when a single fertilised egg splits, more than one egg is fertilised, or both things happen at the same time.
Sadly, higher order multiples rarely happen naturally, and are usually the result of fertility treatments and in most cases through IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation).
Enough of the descriptions 🤪. I visited a Priest friend some few days ago and while we chatted about a lot of issues of common interests, I soon caught a glimpse of a picture beautifully framed and fixed to the wall of the parlour. Guess what, this priest had a snap shot with four kids (Peter, Mary, Esther and Judith) birthed by same mother on the same day (quadruplex). Wow!

Interestingly, while I was curious and eager to know about the kids, this priest gladly informed me that the parents were married for 21 years with no child 😭😭. Pathetic isn’t it?
Ironically, the married couple never divorced or loosed faith about given birth, perhaps they understood the meaning of the words ‘for better for worse’ (do people still take those words seriously? Story for another day).

Having listened keenly to this beautiful story, which sent shivers down my spine, I couldn’t help but hewed a deep sigh with a facial expression that was almost ‘visible to the blind and audible to the deaf’ that I was lost in awe and wonder. Like the words of the psalmist I said “What marvels the Lord worked for us! Indeed we were glad” (Cf Psalm 125).
I quickly remembered the Bible verse where it is recorded how people were sending children away from Jesus and he responded in these words “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of My Father” (Cf Matt. 18:10).
Soon enough I requested that the kids be called to come over and pray for me and gladly my brother priest obliged and called the parents who brought them. And I was blessed with my brother priest with whom we travelled together. Trust me, in their innocence God listens to them. I am still basking in the joy of their blessing.
