THE MASTER'S CALL

Leave me alone, I didn't do anything
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone...

These were my outcry as I was held up and dragged along by a hefty masculine figure with a stern-looking face. I've always known my master as a good person, that's the more reason I'm surprised with the way he is treating me now.

I cried but my pleas fell to deaf ears, he seems to derive pleasure from my cries. His friends were across the road, feasting in Mama Ajayi's drinking spot, watching the scene in merriment.

My master tied me to a tree, I knew my case was over because nobody dared question him.

Two things can happen to me, either I'm sold to traders or I'll be killed. I waited for long, but my master made no attempt to sell me, then I knew my fate was death.

My family and friends rallied around me to support me. None uttered a word to me. They just allowed the tears to flow freely knowing today was going to be my last on earth.

I looked over, expecting my mater's comrades to intervene, but none did. They rather drank wine and took turns narrating their exploits.

Two men were approaching in our direction. I recognized them, they were well known all over the district and beyond.

I was shocked to see them walk towards me, came to me, and were untying me when my master cried out, why do you untie the colt? They answered the Lord needs it.

What did I just hear? The Lord? I turned to my friends and smiled. Deep within me, I knew how unworthy I am for the Lord to ride upon me into Jerusalem.

An Appetizer 😊

From the Donkey's narrative.

Most often, the Lord uses the weakest of men to mold them to become His finest vessels. Judge no man, stay humble.

Nice one... I like the creativity, the suspense and the build-up to the story. I was trying to guess what the next wordings would be after reading each line.

This is impressive!
