I am not a believer and I no longer belong to any church (I used to be Catholic).
This whole male-dominated power apparatus is becoming less and less important here in Germany.
No access of women, the inhuman celibacy and e.g. the prohibition of contraception do not please me.
The Catholic Church contributes to the fact that many children are born in Africa, who then cannot be fed and do not have a good future. In the churches it is preached that contraception is a sin!
And then there is of course a lot of abuse of power, maltreatment etc..
But on the other hand, there are of course many people in the church who do a lot of good and sacrifice their lives for the community.
I have great respect for that.
I wish you all the best and hope that you will be happy in Cameroon.
If you feel like it, tell me about your community life and your experiences.
I would be happy!
Greetings from Germany
Sometimes, we may not be comfortable with the church's decree but I believe all these are for the good and not bad of humanity.
This is one thing I wish to be remembered for... Infact, it is one of the reasons I became a priest., to be the helping hand to others. I pray for strength to do exactly just that.
Thank you for your kind wishes.
I would also love to discuss and share in details with you all my experiences in Cameroon... Can I have your Discord handle (if you are on Discord) or any other platform, so I would write directly to you. I'll post also on blurt sometimes.
I'm not online that much.
I would love it if you post it here on Blurt. I think it's important that many people get an impression of other countries and your work.
