My sister's daughters received a phone call from their landline phone which I have no idea until now that they have and the person told them that their parents (my Sister and his husband) which actually went out to do some errands had gotten into an accident.
The scammer to my teenager nieces to go and send the money through GCASH which is one of our local money transfer services here, the amount of around $200 dollars. The scammer also told them not to tell anyone about it and proceeded to go to the remittance center, apparently through 7-eleven branch near our area here.
My younger niece ought to tell my parents about it but the eldest one forbade her to do it because it was the instruction of the scammer. Had they told it to one of my parents then my mother could have stopped them.
Then my nieces then went to the 7-Eleven branch to do the transaction and it is just unfortunate that they have access to my sister's cash which allowed them to do such a big transaction considering that they are minors.
The money went poof! just like that and now we have a happy scammer that made my sister and his husband, my family basically feeling horrible. The Kids by the way are just naïve minors and they had gotten manipulated by a professional scammer. Quite a bad thing to happen considering that it will be my mother's birthday and the Christmas time and new year celebration is near even though I don't believe in the two latter.
