My dear parents as usual had helped me by going to the municipal office to verify my PWD ID number because I was having a problem with my ID number appearing at the Philippine Registry for Persons with Disability website. It turned out that my ID is not encoded properly as it is missing details and the only one that can do it is through the PWD office at the municipal hall in our town.

So the officers there had encoded it for me so it was already done before we got home. Now I will not have anymore problems in using my PWD ID card in establishments like hospitals especially in government hospitals, and as I had said in my previous posts, it helps me in queues as we get to use the "express lane" if we needed to fall in line for something even at the grocery store queues although I don't do groceries myself.

But for buying medicines and food items, being a PWD card holder gives us a considerable discount because of the 20% off (PWD discount) together with the 12% off to value-added tax (VAT) from the original price of items that we wanted to buy and it does pays a lot particularly when the medicines are expensive as food now had gone very expensive even the basic commodities.

Now I am happy that my PWD had been encoded properly and I was able to see my details to the registry. It means that even when establishments tries to verify my PWD ID card, they will see that I am registered and because of that I will never have any more problems in availing discounts for my medical, food, and other services that can give me discount and such privileges.

Now my ID is still valid until the year 2027 if God wills me to be still alive at that year but things might happen in between especially the unified physical PWD ID card which would make our IDs look the same no matter what place we live in this country. It is because we have different ID appearances and it creates problems.

Now I know that if a person with disability wanted to get registered with their PWD ID card, they have to visit their corresponding Municipal or city PWD offices and let the officers there register their ID number or pertinent data and it can be done fast. Not all PWD offices requires a physical visit as other cities like in the capital manila requires an email to be sent tot the PWD office with possibly a copy of medical certificate in order to have their data encoded to be registered to the department of health registry for persons with disabilities.
