Silence and fear covered the earth; the type of silence and phobia that embraces us when we witness suffering but are afraid to share in it.

In the midst of this emotions, the servant of Yahweh, opened his mouth in his fourth song:
"See, my servant shall prosper, he shall be raised high and greatly exalted".

This word of faith uttered by the servant is very deep but mostly escapes us or is mostly out of sight when we experience suffering. Yet suffering has always been with us and continues to be with us each day.
In the case of this servant of Yahweh God, we come face to face with the suffering of the innocent which mostly does not draw our attention.

Yet still, the sufferings of the innocent is a price for the sins of the world and their chastisement is what makes humanity whole.

Though scandalous, the silence of the innocent in the face of suffering and their submission like a lamb led to slaugher before the shearer brings judgement upon humanity.

This experience of the servant of Yahweh brings to live clearly the reality of suffering and the mission accomplished through it for the sake of all.

The experience of this servant of God is equal to the ministry of the Eternal High priest, Jesus Christ who today, through his passion submits to death.

In his passion, Jesus' outer garment was torn and divided among the people, yet his under garment woven in one piece from neck to hem was not touched.

Sometimes, our personal suffering strikes us so deep that it seems as if it touches our humanity or better still, sometimes we allow suffering to touch our humanity and so we loose our humanity and dignity to suffering. Suffering is real but we must not loose our humanity or dignity in suffering; instead we must face suffering with dignity and pride because it is redemptive.

Therefore, let us not be afraid to go with Jesus through his suffering to the grave to die to this world and sin.
