Assalamu Alaikum Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Dear Respected Fellow Brindu Today I can't gossip about a dead person. I will present a little discussion about this to you InshaAllah. You are very welcome
Gossip is forbidden. It is haraam to gossip about the living, just as it is haraam to gossip about the dead.
If we take a look at the Hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about backbiting the dead, it will become clear to everyone.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: When one of you dies, leave him to his own devices. In no case do you want to convey that you recommend for the mother to be inactive.
In another hadith, it has been said that none of you will insult the dead, because the dead are enjoying the fruits of their deeds. It also discusses the merits of the dead and will always strive to avoid faults or controversial aspects.
Anyone with a sound conscience would say that it is a heinous crime to criticize and practice the gossip and faults of a dead person. Because those who are dying are now living a life of poverty, helplessness, loneliness. Now no one has the power to backbite or retaliate if someone backbites them. Therefore, we should all avoid all kinds of errors, mistakes, discussions and criticisms of the deceased person and try to discuss his qualities if possible. Rather, we can say that we are benefiting from the fact that the dead are our benefactors because they remind us of our death and thus instill the fear of God in our hearts. Makes us interested in good deeds and teaches us to be detached from evil deeds. I see an example in this regard when the dead person usually causes distress to the friends and relatives of the deceased. A man in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite Surah Tawbaat. This Surah Abu Lahab speaks of the curse and curse of Allah. Although Abu Lahab was a disbeliever, he was the uncle of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to get sad because of reciting the Surah over and over again. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called the man and said, 'Brother, have you memorized only this one Surah in the whole Qur'aan?'
Let's save ourselves from gossiping about the dead person and save our family and get used to discussing his virtues till today.
God bless you.
