The guava fruit is sour and astringent with just a hint of sweetness. The smell is 'sweet' piercing. The texture of the meat is soft and juicy with the skin easily crumbling, making it difficult to transport. Sometimes, the fruit is used as animal feed.
Guava fruit contains five times more vitamin C than oranges. Vitamin C which acts as an antioxidant can help maintain the immune system and speed up healing when you have a cold.
