Collecting Clothes For the People by the People.
Volunteering your time, money, or energy to help others doesn’t just make the world better — it also makes you better. Studies indicate that the very act of giving back to the community boosts your happiness, health, and sense of well-being. Here are seven scientific benefits of lending a hand to those in need.
Research has shown that these kinds of activities can improve health in ways that can length your lifespan — volunteers show an improved ability to manage stress and stave off disease as well as reduced rates of depression and an increased sense of life satisfaction — when they were performed on a regular basis. This might be because volunteering alleviates loneliness and enhances our social lives — factors that can significantly affect our long-term health.
I don’t want to live in the kind of world where we don’t look out for each other. Not just the people that are close to us, but anybody who needs a helping hand. I can’t change the way anybody else thinks, or what they choose to do, but I can do my bit. It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person kind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely.
