Crayfish is one sea food that is eaten all over the world 🌍, due to its nutritional contents. It has nutrients that aid the body metabolism, as well as nutrients for development of body cells and for good eyesight. It is mostly used for preparing so many delicacies and it as well add spicy taste to foods.
THE NUTRIENT CONTENTS OF CRAYFISH
The nutrients contained in crayfish includes Omeg-3 fatty acid, protein, calcium, magnesium, zinc, sodium, Vitamin B-12, Vitamin B-6, potassium, phosphorus, Vitamin A, D and E, selenium, copper.
The Omega-3 fatty acid in crayfish helps to keep the skin healthy and also protect it from Uv-rays of the sun and helps in the functioning of the brain. It contains protein which helps to build the muscles and bones. The Vitamin B in crayfish helps in the function of the nervous system, it keeps the eyes, skin, hair and liver healthy.
Sodium and potassium are also very important; sodium helps to maintain the body fluid and potassium enables the body to maintain a normal pressure, relax the blood vessels and as well help to reduce blood pressure. Potassium removes excess sodium and balances the body sodium level.
Iodine in crayfish helps the thyroid gland function and it's deficiency causes goiter, but too much of it causes cancer in the body. Finally; the Selenium nutrient in crayfish helps to improve the body reproductive system and increases fertility in women.
