What is rabies?
Rabies is a silent killer of human being. It is a preventable viral disease most often transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal. It is a viral infections caused by a virus secreted in saliva. The rabies virus infects the central nervous system of mammals, ultimately causing disease in the brain and death. That is why it is essential that we keep our pets protected with consistent rabies vaccines.

What is anti-rabies vaccine?
Rabies vaccines contain inactivated pieces of the rabies virus, meaning the vaccine will not cause a dog/cat to develop rabies. Once injected into the mmñnmñ.ñ.nnmdog/cat, the immune system reacts to the foreign rabies virus material by developing antibodies against the virus.

Do cats need to have a rabies shot?
Yes of course! It's essential for cats to receive the rabies vaccine as it's required by law in most states. Vaccination against the disease is important to the safety of both people and cats. So, pet owners must be responsible in handling their pets.

When Leighra our adopted cat was already four months old, we brought her to the veterinarian to have an anti-rabies vaccine. We make sure to have her vaccinated to keep our children safe from rabies incase they were be bitten by cat.

This was her first dose rabies vaccine.
