When we meet someone new, we do not know the person and we are curious to know what that person is like, specially if that person is of our interest and the quickest way to form some opinion about that person is from his or her appearance. In our corporate world we say that half the communication is done with appearance and gestures. So even before we speak to the person we have some opinion or judgement about that person from his or her appearance of from the body language and this habit we carry out all along in our life.
In real life I would prefer to look at people without forming any judgements for them or making any sort of assumptions. Also there is another factor to this. There are times when we meet someone who is not at their best on that particular day dur to whatever reason and that person's behavior may not go well with us because of that and then we form an opinion of the person's personality based on that one incident. The fact is that we all carry some personality traits and at the same time these will change depending on the situation. I may have had a bad day at work and after that if I meet someone new I may choose to remain quiet or I may also be very erratic and based on that if someone forms opinion about my personality then it may not be the most ideal thing to do.
Sometimes I do get in this mode of analyzing people who I do not know, I try to figure out what they must be from their actions, specially at places like airport, then I remind myself consciously but why do I need to do that in the first place. Why should I form any judgements about anyone, that is not the right thing to do. On these blogging platforms also, little do we know about each other's real life. We write and express ourselves, yet we may not fully disclose ourselves and hence it would not be right to judge anyone based on very short interactions that may happen here which can be pleasant or unpleasant.
A cup half full or half empty entirely depends on us what we want to see.
