Proposal : How about we set a Cap on Total Blurt to be Created ?

in proposal •  2 years ago  (edited)

There will only ever be 21 Million Bitcoin.

Will there be an unlimited Supply of Blurt ?

Maybe we should have a similar cap of how much Blurt will ever be Created…

There is already 479 Million Blurt Supply …

Maybe we say only 2.1 Billion will ever be created ?

Then only fees from posting and comments can be used to pay witnesses and developers, curation, posting rewards ?

What do you think ?

I wonder where these fees go now ???

Are they being burned ? Could we get a daily report on how much is being burned with fees ?

The strategy of doing that has a little problem... because it defies decentralization (at least in the early stages). If in place, one could buy a TON of supply and instantaneously dominate the chain, breaking security and decentralization.

...otherwise, it becomes PoS due to the way staking works.

Having that said, over time, pruning inflation+block generation might be a good technique... how hard the pruning goes... may depend on some factors. But that's already something "ongoing". Adjusting to the right amount is usually the harder part.
