My First/Last Prom Experience

I finally got to experience my first-ever prom. Ever since this plan-demic caused a part of my life to quickly crumble away, I've been doing my best to repair it. With the help of my darling dad, things are going up and up. Since the government encouraged school kids to be vaccinated to go to school it was time to say bye-bye. It was quite hard for me to do that because I have been in the same school for over 10 years.

Anyways, after badgering my dad he agreed to let me go to the school prom. I wanted a last chance to see some of my friends before things turn really bad. The prom was a masquerade-themed party but since everyone was wearing a prison mask already it was more like a double masquerade, you really couldn't tell who was who. Luckily, no one really cared about wearing a mask, so almost everyone had them off the whole duration of the prom.

I did feel a little awkward at first because there were some new students who I hadn't met before but being my usually extroverted self, I made friends easily. This was one of the most extravagant nights I've ever experienced and boy was there a lot of food.

My dad helped me choose my outfit for the prom and we didn't have to spend much at all. I found a beautiful black dress lingering in my wardrobe and a masquerade mask that my dad bought but never used. My mother helped with the makeup and I chose my shoes. I felt so confident and actually made a discovery. Running in high heels is so much easier than walking in them.

I spent the whole evening stuffing my face, chatting to friends and former teachers, wandering around the hotel, and taking pictures. The hotel was right next to the Chao Praya river and there was a little bar on the river's edge, that's where most of the teachers were hiding. There was a DJ performance at some point and things got really loud, so my group of friends took a little walk down to the riverside to get away from the noise. Then before I knew it, it was 11 o'clock and the teachers were shooing everyone home. How was your prom experience?

Never been to a prom - would have been a bit gay, being a boys' school.
