The last major repair on the Gator at the homestead is done.

Today we modified and installed, some motorcycle shocks to fit the front suspension for the Gator.

It came out well:

The white springs are part of the new install. The shock is adjustable, and set on the third setting. I plan to drive it first, but it looks like the second setting may be the right one. These shocks are for off road use, so they are designed to be easily l adjusted to match the trail.

The John Deere Gator shocks were $200 each, and these are $33 each. Since these are adjustable and the factory ones aren't, I moved up in the World, and saved $360!

Here's the installation:

The adjustment is inside the white spring, and I like the look. I will take the ether to the homestead on the next run, so we can get it to spin enough to make the vacuum operated fuel pump run. We just put in a new pump, and it hasn't had enough vacuum to prime.

Once it's running, I plan to take a short run to the lake, and plant some cat tails and some rice; in a feeder steam's output pool, off of the main lake! I plan to add heavy weeping willow plantings so I can make it into huge a fish trap when the SHTF occurs.

I am sure it will be nice to share this land with them, LOL! My Wife wants me to feed them, so she can watch them. I think it's a great idea, I think I'll add a salt block too! They are beautiful animals, and it should give her a lot of pleasure watching them.

There were 3 fauwns on the homestead this year, so the herd should be bigger this next year!
