A woman went to the house of a wealthy man and knocked on the door because of her husband's poor condition. A servant came out and asked him:

"What do you want?"

The woman said: "I want to meet your master."

The servant asked: "Who are you?"

The woman said: "Tell him I am his sister."

The servant knew that his master had no sister, so he went in and said to his master:

"There's a woman at the door who claims to be your sister."

The owner said: "Bring him in."

The woman came in, the owner welcomed her cheerfully and asked: "Which brother of mine are you sister? May Allah have mercy on you."

The woman said: "I am the daughter of Adam."

The prosperous man thought in his heart: "This woman is truly a selfless helper. I will be the first person to help her."

The woman said: "O my brother, perhaps people like you do not know how bitter the taste of poverty is. It is because of this poverty that I stand at the door of divorce with my husband. Do you have anything that What you can give for the Day of Resurrection will be gone, but what Allah has will remain."

The prosperous man said: "Say it again."

The woman said: "O my brother, perhaps people like you do not know how bitter the taste of poverty is. It is because of this poverty that I stand at the door of divorce with my husband. Do you have anything that What you can give for the Day of Resurrection will be gone, but what Allah has will remain."

The prosperous man said: "Say it again."

The woman said a third time, then the prosperous man said a fourth time: "Say it again."

The woman said: "I don't think you understand me, and it is a shame for me to say it again. I have never humiliated myself before anyone but Allah."

The prosperous man said: "By Allah, I liked the beauty of your speech. If you repeated it a thousand times, I would give you a thousand dirhams for each repetition."

Then he said to his servants: "Give him ten camels, ten she-camels, as many sheep as he wants, and as much wealth as he wants so that we may do something for the Day of Resurrection. Whatever we have will be gone, but What is with Allah will remain."

Do not forget the poor, for Allah is rich and we are poor.
