If you don't know this artist you don't have to worry. He had only couple of exhibitions outside Poland and there are no works by him in the most famous world collections. Yet, he's worth investigating. Not just because the prices for his paintings are on the rise. He did not paint to glorify the rich and powerful, but devoted his life to show sympathy with those carrying most heavy burden. Exiles, political and criminal prisoners. Infatuated by French realism first he moved to the realm of symbols and dreams creating works which prefigure surrealism.
