Let's build together - CrossPoster Youtube

in polish •  2 years ago

As I started to say, we're working on a CrossPoster that copies Youtube posts to Blurt (you can also easily add Steem and Hive if you think it's worthwhile). At the moment I have the whole backend tentatively ready and I think it's worth trying to do something together - as long as someone wants to actually build something, of course.

The project is intended to make more people from the Youtube platform (at least for now) want to post to Blurt automatically, which could make Blurt a hub for a lot of social media and thus create its own niche.

Currently the project is written in PHP, although I think it is worth rewriting it in Python as it will be much easier to port. There doesn't seem to be a Blurt library with PHP, so NodeJS is used for posting.

You will need to create some very good frontend to not only encourage new people to use Blurt and the project, but also to be secure and reasonably friendly.

In time, in addition to Youtube, more platforms like Vimeo, Dailymotion, Odysee and so on can be added.

It would also be useful if there was some kind of verification system to see if the crossposted content actually belongs to a Youtuber. Of course, there will be some people who impersonate, but a verification system will allow this to be caught.

I think it's a great idea because it would be like micro-tips for those publications.

Blurt is not only a community, it is also a blockchain which can monetize half of the internet. Good idea, I hope other witnesses will understand this and will work together on this open-sourced application

Wordpress, rumble, bitchute, facebook.... there are endless opportunities to promote Blurt thanks to this application

What do you mean? :P

I think if YouTube makes a cross post, then the poster should disable comments on the video and solicit the engagement here on BLURT.

That way ... If the YouTube poster loses the video on YouTube, and they will, then there will be backup Information here on BLURT with any pertinent descriptions and comments about the video.

I hope this clears things up a bit 🤬🥓

Engagement here on Blurt is not the most important issue. Our problem is that we are trying to build social media and we don't see other possibilities of this blockchain. We are in a unique situation because we don't have downvotes and we should take advantage of that. Thanks to crossposter we can monetize half of the internet. This is our only chance for development and a higher stable BLURT price

Sounds good to me. Blurt needs to do something. Quick.

I understand. The question is whether if someone has a reach on Youtube they will want to limit it.

So far I know there are generally very interested people in Crossposter, but we will see how it will be in the end.

I would love to automatically have all my Youtube Videos post to Blurt ... The same way Dtube does.

I know how the API works for Hive and I know that Blurt is similar but how could a dev make an upload button for youtube on some other domain?

but how could a dev make an upload button for youtube on some other domain?

It's too complicated. We don't even think about it. What we want to do is give users of other social media a chance to monetize their content on Blurt. They don't even have to be active on this blockchain. All they have to do is create an account on Blurt and link their social media profiles to a cross-poster, which will detect (via rss, api) and publish links to their posts on hive, steem, wordpress, bitchute, rumble...

It’s easy Enough to tell Someone on YouTube to create a Blurt blog then simply past their video URL into a Blurt Blog post to get paid… I do it all the time.

I also get lots more views on my YouTube shorts which are also monetized…

Well, it's possible, but not recommended IMO. You just need a extension for that
