do not accept
that forest fires are set
by the hands of men
with nothing to gain
but a few moments of revenge

do not accept
that every shooting is done
by a person
with nothing to gain
but a moment of carnage

do not accept
that every child who is raped
has an unloving mother
with nothing to gain
but a bit of cash to buy drugs

do not accept
that everything you are told
by the mouthpieces of the powers that be,
who have everything to gain,
is true

do not accept
that the only remedy for these things
are for you and me to alter our ways of life,
to lose much of what we have and love,
by conforming to the lies we are regularly told

do not be a slave
