Here is my Photography for the #Blurtphoto #colorchallenge
Thursday Green
These are the soft needles of the White Pine Trees I planted in my yard 20 years ago.
These trees will grow about 4’ per year and should be over 80’ tall by now.
White Pines are often the tallest Trees you will see in the Forests of Northern Ontario and usually giant limbs break off in the brutal Winter Storms we get up here.
So to prevent massive logs falling through our roof I decided to start pruning these trees when they were about 10’ tall.
I am growing them as a 15’ White Pine Hedge. Like a miniature Pine Forest.
Most pruning is done in June. I simply pinch off 3/4 off the new growth.. called Candles.
The pine needles also make very good mulch for keeping the weeds out.

These are pretty lovely pictures. The pine trees stand out proudly just like a peacock. Reminds me of the cashew tree I planted some time ago. Unfortunately, one major branch broke off and that was the beginning of the end of the tree.

Wow! Your forest is growing really well. Trees in Canada grow tall and the trees here in India grow wider. We do have trees that grow tall but most native trees grow wide and spread meters.
