I had a wonderful time yesterday playing this board game with my 8-year-old nephew! Of course, I won but he really gave me a tough time.

Chess is an age-old and very impactful game dating back to ancient history. This board game is definitely not a kid's play. You need a certain mindset and understanding to even know how to go about it.

My father and his side of the family are very much into this game and they are very good at it. I have seen them playing, debating, and discussing it since my childhood but I never got a chance to play or try it on a serious note till yesterday.

My nephew Ali wanted to play it and was not finding any playmate as my father was not available, then he offered to join hain im, and I said okay!

He explained to me all the rules and made me understand all the moves and taught me how to play it, but poor thing I defeated him. And he took the defeat very gracefully. He is a true sportsman even at this age. I am proud of him!

I am against encouraging children through fake competitions and victories. When I was a child my father used to let me win all the games to make me feel good but I don't because children should be aware of the taste of defeat and they should know how to react, behave, and get over it when they lose. I believe this learning should start from home itself. Maybe parents and grandparents can be lenient with them but there should be someone from the family who gives them a tough time, and I am that vamp for my nephew's at my home.
