Watering the plants

in plants •  2 years ago

Plants need food and water helps them get food from the soil.

It is winter season here in India and it slowly getting colder. Watering needs of plants change seasonally.

One thing that everyone gets wrong is how much and how often to water our plants.

Each plant has its own requirements and most people, sometimes even I get it wrong.

My general tip is to water only when you see the soil getting dry. But sometimes this can cause some plants to get into shock and they end up dying.

We have a lot of plants and the easiest plants to grow are Neem, Honge, Gulmohar and many others.

Neem has a lot of medicinal properties and it is like everywhere here in India. The leaves are bitter and used as antibacterial and antifungal on plants and in shampoos etc.

It doesn't need much water to survive. It can go without water for weeks and if it is in the ground then it can draw water from the depths and survive.

Honge is a plant that I like the most. I have experimented with this plant and it can survive without any water for days and days and when it gets some water it thrives.

And then there are flowering plants that needs more water and a few that needs very less water.
