Hello everyone! What's up?
A few days ago I watched a video on YouTube and made chocolate donuts at home. I tried it for the first time but it tasted so good and so soft that I didn't think it was my first donut. So I shared my recipe with you, you should also try it.
Here's the recipe for making chocolate donuts at home:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a donut pan with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in 2-3 additions, alternating with the buttermilk, and mixing until just combined.
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about 3/4 of the way full.
Bake the donuts for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
To make the glaze, melt the chocolate chips, butter, and corn syrup together in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently.
Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, add the milk and stir until the glaze is smooth and pourable.
Dip each cooled donut into the glaze, and place it back on the wire rack to set.
Once the glaze is set, your chocolate donuts are ready to serve! Enjoy.
