The "Sea Cadets" are a UK-based youth organization that aims to provide young people with nautical and maritime training, as well as opportunities for personal development and adventure. Woking "Sea Cadets" offer a wide range of activities and training programs that focus on sailing, power-boating, navigation, and other water related skills.
Goldsworth Park lake (see my photos below) is located in Woking, Surrey. A popular venue often used by the Woking Sea Cadets for sailing and other water-based activities. The lake is relatively small, but it provides a safe and controlled environment for young cadets to learn and develop their skills.
The Sea Cadets offer a variety of training programs, from basic skills to more advanced courses that can lead to nationally recognized qualifications. These courses cover a range of topics, including sailing and seamanship, navigation, marine engineering, and leadership.
In addition to the technical skills and qualifications that cadets can gain through the Sea Cadets, the organization also places a strong emphasis on personal development and character-building. Cadets are encouraged to develop teamwork, leadership, and self-discipline, as well as a sense of responsibility and respect for others.
If you have young kids (especially teens) the "Sea Cadets" can provide a unique and valuable opportunity for young people to gain practical skills, personal development, and a love of the sea and maritime life.
Sailing on my local "Goldsworth Park" lake is just one of many activities that cadets can experience with safe supervision from the "Sea Cadets" instructors.
