Hello dear friends as I told you in previous posts I am a farmer and I have my own three acres of land for farming. On one of them I have sown wheat. And one acre has fodder for our goats and sheep. There are four seasons in our region: summer, winter, autumn and spring. And in our area, two crops are grown each year, mostly cotton and wheat. Winter begins, wheat cultivation begins, and wheat harvest begins in the first week of April. That is, wheat is a six-month crop. My land is not very fertile but still wheat is good because of canal water. Groundwater is not very effective in our land.
Today is the 17th of March and there are 20 days left until the wheat is ready.
In the picture above you can see that the wheat is still looking a little green. In twenty days, when wheat is fully ripen, it will turn golden. Then you will see fields of golden color everywhere.
In this picture there is wheat on both sides and in the middle there is a small canal. This wheat is irrigated through this small drain.
The price of wheat crop in our country is fixed at 2200 Pakistani rupees per mann. (mann) means forty kilograms. That is, a mann weighs forty kilograms inside. And in our country the price of 40 kg of wheat is Rs 2200.
It costs about Rs. 25,000 to grow wheat in one acre. And an acre yields an average of 50 mann wheat. Which at the present price is one lakh rupees of 50 mann wheat. And one acre of savings is Rs. 75,000.
Now I will try to explain to you in dollars. Our currency is Rs. 179 per dollar. And the cost of cultivating wheat per acre is 139$. And an acre of wheat yields 555$. And 416$ per acre is the profit.
And if we cultivate wheat on a contract basis, then the profit is a little less because we have to pay for it.
Now that you are looking at the picture above, I have broken a set and taken out some grains from it which you can see.
These grains are still very raw, meaning the grains can be rubbed by hand. When they are ripen, they will be very difficult to break. From these grains later flour is made and from this flour we eat bread.
The government should be grateful to farmers because farmers provide flour to the whole country through our hard work.
