Yardlong bean flowers, also known as "sheem" or "snake bean" flowers, are indeed a popular vegetable in Bangladesh. These flowers belong to the Vigna unguiculata subsp. sesquipedalis species and are commonly cultivated for their edible pods and tender shoots. The flowers are pale yellow to light purple in color and are quite fragrant. They are often used in traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, where they are stir-fried, added to curries, or used in various dishes. The yardlong bean plant itself is a vigorous climber with long, slender pods that can reach up to a yard in length, hence the name. It's a staple in many Asian cuisines, including Bangladeshi, and is valued for its nutritional content and versatile culinary uses.
