Hey everyone,
my favorite activity is mushroom picking, and cooking with them. it's a dangerous hobby as many mushrooms are poisonous or even deadly!
I know how to identify 8 kinds and here I will discuss the kinds in the photo from last week's hunt :)
Top left, the yellow ones, Suillus granulatus, grows around pine trees as it has a symbiosis with it's roots, this is a common and one of my favorites.
Top right, the black-white ones, Tricholoma terreum, also grows around pine trees, and is a controversial kind as it was considered poisonous in the past and only lately was found to be ok for eating.
Middle left, the lonely one, Hohenbuehelia geogenia / petalodes, this season is the first time I'm picking that mushroom, it has a firm "meat" and is very tastey.
Bottom right, Lactarius delicious, name says everything, its very very delicious and is the one I like the most as it tastes and feels like meat!
Bottom left, Clitocybe nuda, this one comes in amazing colors and sometimes is completely purple! its tasty but requires pre-cooking and spilling the water as its partially poisonous.
