MY PASSION IS FLOWER PHOTOGRAPHY/MI PASIÓN ES LA FOTOGRAFÍA DE FLORES

Instead of a rose I thought I would share one of my peonies from earlier in the spring. I caught this one just as she was opening. I believe all my peonies are doubles. I have a yellow peony that I planted this year, and hope to have blooms next spring. I hope you enjoy this one.

En lugar de una rosa pensé en compartir una de mis peonías de antes en la primavera. Cogí esta justo cuando estaba abriendo. Creo que todas mis peonías son dobles. Tengo una peonía amarilla que planté este año, y espero que florezca la próxima primavera. Espero que disfrutes de esta.

I am looking forward to the "hard-fork" early in August to fix some issues on Blurt. Overall I have been pleased with the progress being made with Blurt and the attitude of users. It is good to see some of my followers from the other platforms.

Estoy esperando el "hard-fork" a principios de agosto para arreglar algunos asuntos en el bursátil. En general, estoy satisfecho con el progreso que se está haciendo con Blurt y la actitud de los usuarios. Es bueno ver a algunos de mis seguidores de las otras plataformas.

I started working on this publication earlier this week, with the intention of publishing much sooner than I am. Any of you who know me from the other platforms know my life is very busy, and there is always something that pulls me away form publishing. Then my main PC crashed due to overheating. Thankfully I have learned the lesson of putting the format in a Word document and saving it. I am determined to get this done before much more time has elapsed.

Comencé a trabajar en esta publicación a principios de esta semana, con la intención de publicarla mucho antes que yo. Cualquiera que me conozca de las otras plataformas sabe que mi vida es muy ocupada, y siempre hay algo que me aleja de la publicación. Entonces mi PC principal se estrelló debido al sobrecalentamiento. Afortunadamente he aprendido la lección de poner el formato en un documento de Word y guardarlo. Estoy decidido a hacer esto antes de que pase mucho más tiempo.

Photographs/Fotografías

I did not forget to include a rose for this publication. This is one of my roses, which unfortunately winter killed. I lose a lot of roses during the winter months. I am glad I took some nice photos of this pink rose before it died.

No olvidé incluir una rosa para esta publicación. Esta es una de mis rosas, que desafortunadamente el invierno mató. Pierdo muchas rosas durante los meses de invierno. Me alegro de haber tomado unas bonitas fotos de esta rosa antes de que muriera.

This next flower is one of my dahlias. It has a smaller flower than my other one. I hope to add another next year, after losing my 3rd one. I grow these in containers and and then store them in a cool place (without light) for the winter. Otherwise I have to dig the tubers and have never had success in keeping them over winter. I store my carrots and beets in buckets of garden soil to keep them over winter. So I thought I might have success just keeping the dahlias in containers. I have had these for a few years and only lost one. This is my earliest dahlia and is just beginning to bloom.

La siguiente flor es una de mis dalias. Su flor es más pequeña que la otra. Espero añadir otra el año que viene, después de perder mi tercera. Las cultivo en contenedores y las guardo en un lugar fresco (sin luz) para el invierno. De lo contrario tengo que cavar los tubérculos y nunca he tenido éxito en mantenerlos durante el invierno. My final flower is a calendula flower. This is actual a photograph I took a few years ago when I was first learning to use my macro-lens. Success with it helped motivate me to continue experimenting with that lens. I hope you enjoy it.

Mi última flor es una flor de caléndula. Esta es una fotografía que tomé hace unos años cuando estaba aprendiendo a usar mi lente macro. El éxito con ella me ayudó a motivarme para seguir experimentando con esa lente. Espero que la disfruten.

I have a trail-camera (actually four of them) set up on my property as well as my daughters property. The cameras are motion or heat triggered. This next photograph is one of many wildlife photos I have. I still have thousands of photos from these cameras that I need to look at and select good ones for sharing. This whitetail deer came through the winter in good shape.

Tengo una cámara de vigilancia (en realidad cuatro) instalada en mi propiedad y en la de mis hijas. Las cámaras se activan por movimiento o por calor. La siguiente fotografía es una de las muchas fotos de vida silvestre que tengo. Todavía tengo miles de fotos de estas cámaras que necesito mirar y seleccionar las buenas para compartir. I am using a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs, except where noted. I do have an older PowerShot Canon camera that I use from time to time. Wildlife is usually taken by a stationary trail camera that takes photos based on motion.

Estoy usando una Canon EOS Rebel T5 para la mayoría de las fotografías, excepto donde se indique. Tengo una vieja cámara PowerShot Canon que uso de vez en cuando. La vida silvestre es generalmente tomada por una cámara estacionaria de senderos que toma fotos basadas en el movimiento.
