The Little Forest

The sidewalk ends at a little forest,
Where the trees reach out their branches to me.
The sun shines through the leaves,
And the birds sing in the breeze.

　The roadside is lined with hedges,
　And the grass is green and lush.
　It's a perfect place to sit and relax,
　On a summer afternoon.

I close my eyes and listen to the sounds,
Of the birds and the wind.
I can almost forget about the world,
And just be here in the moment.

　This is my little forest,
　My own little slice of paradise.
　I'm so grateful to have this place,
　To come to when I need to escape.
