The fascinating Morning Glory

in photography •  4 years ago  (edited)

In today's early morning walk, I was fascinated by this bunch of Morning Glory flowers.

These are one of the fascinating flowers that I came across too. They bloom before dawn, that's is how they get the name "morning glory". It's as if they have a timer that tells them when to bloom. They also have the patience to wait for their time.

So, how do they know when exactly to bloom?

According to scientists, the combination of light and temperature signals serves as their cue for when exactly they have to bloom.

These types of flowers are not poisonous, however, the seeds are toxic especially when ingested in large amounts.

If you wish to attract hummingbirds to your garden then you should have this vine on your pergola. On top of that, bees love purple flowers. So, if you wish to spot a bee for your macro photography then hang out near this flower and wait for your subjects to come to you.
