Purple flower at our neighborhood

in photography •  3 years ago

Most of the photos of plants & flowers that I took are still unknown to me. I can't seem to find a reference over the internet that tells me their names and their characteristics as well. Even the "search Google for image" doesn't always work. In most cases, the reference that Google is either inaccurate or misleading.

Similar to what it gave me for this picture, the search result said that this flower is a Centaurium; a plant species that belongs to the family of gentians. I looked it up and realize that the characteristics described for a Centaurium plant don't match with the plant/flower that I have in this picture.

This experience, lead me to conclude that not everything that the internet browser will feed us doesn't necessarily mean right. It's still our responsibility to vet through the info that it gives us.

Even though that it's very helpful in some cases, it doesn't necessarily mean it works well all the time.
