Depth through the pattern

in photography •  3 years ago

While learning about photography, I was puzzled about what others claim that "it's all about the lighting". Frankly, that's a vague statement to understand especially for a newbie like me. Over time, I realize that there's truth to it. And if applied to the photo, it will result in something amazing.

Lighting can be harsh but it can also be soft. It all depends on when the photograph was taken, early & late afternoon provides softer lighting. In between that, the lighting is relatively harsh.

Good lighting will add depth to the image. It will also impact the overall contrast of the image.

If coupled with shallow depth-of-field then it will result in a sublime effect.
