As I get older, my appreciation to colors sometimes becomes dull as at times I can't hardly distinguish brown from green and also blue to purple especially when some friends suggests that I try to do some photo editing and/or filtering which I seldom to administer in my photographs as I might apply the wrong colors on things like giving brown leaves to trees instead of green. But one time I tried some photo editing app to enhance some colors, I became interested to try black and white instead and here are some subjects that I found to be great in my own perception.
1. For the landscape I found this sight to be an ideal spot and that found at the rocky beach with the view of a Mediterranean-inspired hotel that is aligned to the view of the sea at the middle ground while the view of the rock bed, sand, and grasses at the foreground.
2. For the architectural category, I found the municipal building of the town of San Juan here in La Union, Philippines to be very great for this photography genre as the architectural design is based on Spanish colonial era
3. Black and white photography might as well work wonders on silhouette shots Take for example the silhouette of this tree on twilight.
4. I also try balck and white filtering to the picture of a fisherman casting his gill net aboard a bamboo raft and the results brings some sort of nostalgia.
5. Finally, I also found that black and white photo is also great in macro shots! Just like what I did to the photograph of a robber fly that is perched on a twig.
CONCLUSION;
Black and white photography can be applicable to almost any type of photography provided that the subject is free from other objects that might obstruct the view due to lack of colors that distinguish objects from each other.
