There were a lot of big boulders under the water around the place I snorkeled in Tobermory. I was sort of rock to rock. I wasn't seeing any fish. The very strange thing is I never saw any fish in Lake Michigan in 2021 and none in Lake Superior either and then none in Lake Huron last year. Lake Ontario was gross and there was no visibility and the only reason I got in it was to say I swam in all the great lakes. My last time in Lake Erie this past spring was gross as well. Was trying to do an ice bath but it wasn't fun.

Yeah… not all the Great Lakes are great… but Superior, Huron and Michigan are big, deep and cold… so the water is clean and clear …. Superior is the deepest by far ….

Erie wasn't too bad when I swam in it from the Canadian side last year. I could see my feet but Huron and Michigan have some really nice spots. Superior looks dark but I think it is because a lot of the beaches are rocks vs brighter white sand. Like pea gravel
