On Friday we decided to spend the day at one of our Omani friend's farmhouse. It is a 2 hrs drive from the city, the road all through out is scenic cutting the mountains. I love these long drives over the weekend, though the whole landscape is dry but there is still a lot of rustic beauty in it.
The road has many twist and turns. The sky is clear and it is a bright sunny day.
As we pass through these majestic mountains, I took a halt to get some pictures on the way. Love these views.
After a good long 2 hrs drive, we reached the farmhouse and settled down there. We had carried our food since, it is the month of Ramadan, nothing would be available outside to eat during day time. And this is a small village so there are anyways no restaurants here. We rested for an hour and then made a visit around to see his farm. It is a small place but he has grown quiet a few things, like there are lemon trees, tomato plants, sugarcane, wheat fields, Basil, Jujubes, Papaya, Dates...
The Basil plant is grown very well, looks healthy and was aromatic.
The Sugar cane plants
The lemon tree was full with lemons
He also had some live stock
Then we went to the other side where there were wheat fields, and he had also grown garlic, onions in that part.
On the other side, he had his dates plantation. That was a big space
This is such a good organic way of life, self sustained and so very healthy. We enjoyed the day thoroughly here and then towards evening started for our way back home.
