Hello, blurt.blog community!
My name is Khoa. In my first post at the blurt community, currently, I am living in Vietnam. In my job as a tour guide, I have a burning passion that is to discover the beauty of the world. My hobbies are soccer and photography, passing through every beautiful place I want to capture the beautiful moments of that place. I want to share with everyone a typical flower of Vietnam, which is the lotus. This flower originated in ancient Egypt and was later widely grown in Indochina and some countries with Buddhist beliefs such as India and China. It is a flower of Buddhist symbolism, people can see in the statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, the Buddha will sit on lotus petals, it is those sacred thoughts that this flower is worshipped. favourite Asian country.

Lotus flowers are grown in ponds, lakes or small rivers, normally the lotus tree will have a height of 1 meter 5. When the lotus flower blooms, the flower branches will be grown from 50cm to 80cm above the water surface. The lotus leaf will have a diameter of 40cm to 60cm, the largest lotus flower will be 20cm in diameter. Lotus flowers will normally be planted in January of the solar calendar, and from May to July is when the lotus begins to bloom. The end of July will be the last harvest of the lotus. Maybe people do not know, the lotus flower has many uses. The Lotus plant is often used in delicacies and it is very good for health. On buying and harvesting the lotus plant will be harvested all parts of the plant. Lotus leaves are used for food wrapping and decoration, and lotus roots are used by many people in dishes to nourish the body. The flower stalks, cones and roots can also be eaten, but you must know how to prepare them. The most precious thing of the lotus plant is the lotus seed in each lotus bud. Lotus seeds are very good for health, often used in dishes such as lotus tea or lotus jam. In the middle of the seed will be the lotus heart, often used in sedatives for insomnia and heat. The stamens of the lotus are used to dry and make premium tea packages. In the summer, enjoying a cup of lotus tea, people will feel the freshness of lotus tea and the fragrance of lotus stamen. It can be said that each part of the lotus plant has a certain use and it is always a favourite item for tourists to buy as a gift.
