The sunsets on the island of Sant'Antioco in southern Sardinia are spectacular. Not only because of the colors of the sunset in all its magnificent chromatic variety. If not also because at that time it is very common to see different representatives of the fauna and marine fauna either on the beaches or in the surroundings, in this case I show you in the photos the starfish and the seagulls also from sea.
It is a moment of stillness when the tourists begin to move away from the beaches and the tide rises more and more with that uniform movement and threat of the sea and that dull murmur that is so magical and nostalgic. It is the preferred time for living beings who live in or near the water to enjoy a sunset in total peace with the environment.
The town stands on the ancient Phoenician colony of Sulci and overlooks the Gulf of Palmas. It is characterized by a rich archaeological heritage: domus de janas, tombs of the giants, nuraghi and remains of the Phoenician-Punic and Roman presence. The town, which extends around the remains of the Savoy fort, has the typical appearance of fishermen's villages with low and colorful houses.
Sant’Antioco is a charming and welcoming land, and not just for man. In this part of Sardinia, you can admire the numerous bird species that inhabit the lagoon, the hinterland and the rocky coasts up close: a real paradise for birdwatchers. But not only that, because in the boundless Antiochense naturalistic landscape it is possible to appreciate various types of birds a stone's throw from the inhabited center and without having special equipment.
