Hello Blurt!!
Todays DOPE is about a Heli Hike I did in Fox Glacier a few years ago.
What is a Heli Hike you might be asking yourself? Well it is a tour in which you fly to the Glacier by helicopter, get on the ice, put the gear on (crampons on your boots) and go on a walk on the ice with a guide.
You get to see ice caves, blue ice, waterfalls and more! Its really a cool experience. The whole deal is sweet, the helicopter flight on its own is breathtaking.
After 2 hours walking around, you return to the spot where the helicopter dropped you, you return the crampons and wait for the heli to come pick you up to take you back to town.
Living in a small place like Fox Glacier, a small town in the mountains is hard sometimes, theres not a lot to do... but then one day off you do something like this and it makes it all worth it.
