Vineyards of Vršac
Daily Photography #730
One of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in Serbia is located on the slopes of Vršački breg.
Thanks to the vineyards and the tradition of growing vines, since 1804 the vine has been part of the coat of arms of Vršac.
In these vineyards, there are more than a dozen varieties of grapes, of which Italian Riesling covers 50% of the area. But the pride of the Vršac vineyards is the Kreac variety (Banat Riesling), which originates from the Vršac area and is recognized throughout the world.
In autumn, the yellowed vineyards under the fog-covered slopes of Vršački breg tell a new and yet long-told story.
