Today I come back with a post part of an initiative I renamed Towards the Bikend. Within this article, you will find a series of images created thanks to photos taken during a bicycle race held in the area where I live in, last April.
Precisely, I took the photos on April 1st, 2023. The competition took place along the borders of the local industrial area and was reserved for amateur categories only. While the cyclists were covering the route of the chosen lap several times, I stopped at various points and photographed the arrival of the athletes. I didn't take the shots near the finish line, I hope you like them anyway.
After choosing the best photos, I created a black and white version by editing some properties: lights and shadows, brightness, contrasts, vignetting. Before completing the process, I tried to remove a bit of the image noise: in this way, I lose a little detail, but I hope it's acceptable for our purposes. The canons are, as usual, very personal and don't follow the classic criteria taught by the various philosophies present in the photographic sector. Below you will find a round-up of the final result. I hope you like it.
