COLOSSEUM IN THE MORNING

I had some stuff to do and buy early in the morning, here in the city of Pula, not far from where I live.

That gave me the opportunity to take a few shots of the well-preserved building constructed in between year 27 BC and year 68 AD, when Pula became a regional center of the Roman Empire. It’s an impressive, resilient building built with big limestone blocks, definitely the most iconic thing on the entire Istra peninsula.

Seagulls like to rest here, high on the rocks ... just like they were resting back then, many centuries ago, when the thing was still in function for some bloody & questionable entertainment :)
