On this cold but perfectly clear Winter day I had a few hours to kill - a rarity in my life. I had just dropped a car off to be repaired at a garage and decided to take a walk through the neighborhood.
Time to get off the main drag and hit a side street.
Nothing much interesting there - unlike here, where at least you get to see this quaint old hydrant.
Local Mexican fast food restaurant that is closed, likely due to the pandemic.
These are some of the local views. There are some serious woods within the walking distance but I was not quite in shape to walk far enough due to the kidney stone that hit several weeks prior. So I just hiked a couple of kilometers in different directions taking in the day.
Miniature palm
I have seen a few of them around. I am quite sure they are not native to the area, yet somehow they seem to survive the Winter, despite it going down to at least -15C, sometimes even below -20C, at least once every year.
