Jarawa is a nomadic tribe of Andaman of India.It is very old tribe who still aloof from all kind of civilization of the modern world.The govt. had tried many times to make them civilized but failed.They do not believe human and tasks of humans.This tribe is similar as Great Andamanese ,Onge and Sentinelese.people believed that these tribes live in Indian ocean home for 5500 years.It is really unbelievable.Now this tribes increase and living on the different places of Indian Island.

Jarawa tried to be civilized but couldn't.In 1998 ,Jarawa came to the nearby town without bow and arrows.Once local authorities made a plan to make Jarawa as villager.They kept them in two different villages.The economy was based on fishery.But hunting and gathering is determined as sports of Jarawa.It is a crucial issue that what type of cloth Jarawa wears.In fast ,forced settlement had been so bad for other tribes of Andaman.

"I am civilized and

they are not civilized."

In 2004 the settlement plan of Indian organizer had been abandoned.Because they met a vigorous campaign.So authorities allowed Jarawa to live their own way.

Jarawa met some problem:
Jarawa is under danger than other tribes of Andaman.

  • The road has been constructed ruining the area of the Jarawa.
  • Some people humiliating them like animals in a safari park.
  • Some local and International poachers entered into the reserve area of Jarawa and steal the things which is needed for survival of Jarawa.
  • They have no strong protection from many kind of diseases.In 1999 and 2000 Jarawa suffered so much from measles.
  • This diseases has the ability which makes epidemic.It could wipe out whole tribe from their community.
  • Jarawa has been sexually abused many times by poachers.
  • The M.P of Island forced them to involve into the human society.

It is not good for Jarawa tribe to make them civilized.They are gifted by the nature .We should let them space to live their way.
