Jarawa is a nomadic tribe of Andaman of India. It is very old tribe who still aloof from all kind of civilization of the modern world. The govt. had tried many times to make them civilized but failed. They do not believe human and tasks of humans. This tribe is similar as Great Andamanese ,Onge and Sentinelese.people believed that these tribes live in Indian ocean home for 5500 years. It is really unbelievable. Now this tribes increase and living on the different places of Indian Island.
Jarawa lives on the ancestral island of them.Recently there are 400 numbers of Jarawa are living in Andaman.Chaddhas is called home of Jarawa. They live in a group of 40-50 people. The life of Jarawa is not easy and smooth. They are thriving in the island for survival. But the number of Jarawa is increasingly with a controlled way.
Once govt. of Indian was making a highway through the reserve area of Jarawa. It was a bad decision to make human safari. So Indian Supreme court ordered to stop the making of highway through the area of Jarawa.but Unfortunately the highway had been completed and still open for tourists to use it for human safari to Jarawa.
Consequently many mishaps are happening everyday.Like poachers steal the animals on which Jarawa depend on for their food.Civilized people are introducing alcohol and marijuana with Jarawa. They also abusing woman of Jarawa. It is so unfortunate and matter of shame for humans.

The hunting is the principal method of Jarawa to collect their food. They hunt pig turtle and fish with bows and arrows. They also hunt crap for eating.Honey is very favorite to all of the Jarawa. They collect honey from different lofty leaves.Bow and arrows are the main arms of the tribe. This bow and arrows are made of chooi wood. But this wood is not found in the area of the tribe. So they have to go long distance to collect this type of wood. They also eat fruits roots and wild tubers. But honey is the differnet to all of them.
Both man and woman Jarawa collect honey from leaf.It is a very delightful work so when they collect honey ,they sing songs. The honey-collector will chew the sap of leaves of a bee-repellant plant, such as Ooyekwalin to protect them from the bite of honey-bees.And a unique matter is that Jarawa bathe after drinking honey. It is a ritual of them. The Jarawa has a detail knowledge about 150 plants and 350 animals species.
