I did promise to buy a 70-200mm lens.

@j85063 It was that I said I would buy a 70-200 mm lens for top quality nature shots at our farm.
I have wanted this lens for a long time but could never justify the cost of a new one, So as I am so tight I squeak when I walk and wanted to let someone else lose over 50% of the new cost - I waited for one to turn up at the right price.
And one did last Friday and it arrived today, spec = Sigma apo dg ex macro HSM 70 - 200mm F 1:2.8 fixed.

This for me completes my lens range until a 70 - 300mm turns up at the right money.
My other lenses are Nikon af Nikkor 70 - 300mm F1: 4-5 - 5.6, Nikon AF-P 15 -55MM VR 1:3.5 - 5.6G, Nikon AF-S 18 - 70MM 1:3.5 - 4.5 ED, Nikon AF Nikkor 28 - 80mm 1:3.5 - 5.6 D & last but not least a Yongnuo 50mm1:1.8 Fixed.

The only new lenses came with my current camera of choice the Nikon d5300, and even though I have owned two professional Nikon DSLR cameras I find the 5300 adequate.
All lenses are compatible with my daughters Nikon d70s that she uses for camera lessons with me as 1 of her home schooling courses, the examiner is an utter barstard and that is the teacher which is me.

First photo with the 70 200mm on my balcony.

Sadly for now it does not want to autofocus with my d5300 but it does with the 70s even though it is not camera motor driven, seems the 5300 needs a software update to make it compatible.
Now if you are possibly thinking you have never heard of a Yongnuo 50mm1:1.8 Fixed I can say with confidence it is a thoroughly excellent lens and much better than I expected it to be.

All lenses listed work very well and are superb clean/clear images.
One of the main reasons I wanted the 70 - 200 was the macro function, and after I find a cheap second hand image double (2x) making it 140 - 400mm I am expecting to get some superb ultra close up images of birds, deer etc.

Time will tell and I will put this lens to good use starting today, it is not for the faint hearted though as it weighs 50.4 ounces or 1430 grams or over 3lb in English weight measure.

I picked it up for 1440zl or under £300 so saved a fortune. Just do not tell my wife it cost that much as a divorce costs more 😂.....

I paid for it by exchanging some BTC I have on my nano s ledger so realistically it cost me around nil lol.

I will get gone and taking some pics today, have a superb sunny day where ever you are and make it a good one.

Peace and out.

Yes boys love toys me included, always enjoyed photography since childhood, I even took a camera to school at 13 years old.

Wow, you really do.

I also love photography but most of the time I use my phone these days. I just left my camera in my house. ;)

I do not like smart phones as they will be used by governments to trap people with digital id and covid passes.

I hear you. It’s a disaster what’s happening but every one addicted to their phone. 🙃

Most are, not all, some are like zombies wit them, endlessly staring at screens, sad days.
