Hi Blurtians! I just want to share what we did to our pet cats. Since our work needs us to travel from time to time between two islands an our pet cats are left on their own at home with a feeder and water, we decided to bring them with us because we will be away for quite sometime. So we transported them with us the other day.

Changing our pet cat's environment can have effect on them because they were already used to their previous environment. It should be a gradual process to help them adjust and feel comfortable in their new surroundings. Here are some steps to follow when transitioning your pet cats to a new environment:

Before bringing your cats into the new environment, ensure that it is safe and cat-friendly. Set up their litter box, food and water bowls, scratching posts, and cozy hiding spots to provide a familiar and comfortable environment.

Allow your cats to explore the new environment at their own pace. Start by confining them to one room or area with their essentials for the first few days. This will help prevent overwhelming them with the entire new space all at once but since our place in the province is small it is okay to let them explore the whole place.

Spend time with your cats as often as possible. Sit quietly with them, play with their toys, or engage in their favorite activities. This will help establish a bond with the new environment and associate positive experiences.

Once your cats become comfortable in the initially confined area, gradually grant them access to the rest of the new space like the outdoor area and the other spaces. Start by opening the door for them to oversee and gradually increase their freedom over time.

Each cat's adjustment period will vary, so be patient and observant of their behavior. Monitor their eating, drinking, litter box habits, and overall demeanor. If you notice any signs of stress or anxiety, provide additional support and consult with a veterinarian if necessary.

By following these steps and providing a gradual transition, you can help your cats adjust to their new environment with minimal stress. Remember to offer plenty of love, attention, and reassurance during this process.♥️
