Learning about price impact on swap-Pancake

in pancake •  last month

Hello Cryptoworld!

Note: I posted a first version on InLeo. Still there are little changes.

Today Sunday 25 May 2024 I was trying to get a token of a project from Mr. Santos; KUBIC. A couple of years ago that project (with KUBIC and WOOP) gave me a nice profit. Now it is very low. I am following it and even I think it could take some years to get new way to a better conditions.
Anyway, as I heard there would be new announcements on 29, I thought maybe it could be a good moment to buy.
But it is becoming a challenge to buy now as the usual swap Kubic is not available any more. Any way I did some buys using Pancake swap. And now I have discovered that the price impact is changing according to the percentage of my available BNB.

My question, if someone more Savitech could explain, why the percentage is that big from 25% to 100% Here the screenshoots of different percentages and the affected Price impact.

Buying 25%, price impact is 8.49%

Buying 50% the price impact goes over 15%

Buying 75% it goes over 21% percent.

And buying at Maximum (100%) price impact rises over 27%

Before I saw this big difference I though the best was to buy at maximum, so the price doesn't have time to go up that faster.
But now with that big difference I have decided to do conversions by 25% or less.
Is it always better to convert low percentage of your destined amount?

Well, this is something new coming in my knowledge.
I hope this help someone doing conversions (Swaps on Pancake or any other Swap exchange. It looks like the most convenient is to buy little percentage of your total.
